Hylton Commits to Tigers for 2026-27 season.
Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball head coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce the commitment of guard Bianca Hylton for the 2026-27 season.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Hylton has most recently competed with Scarborough Basketball Academy Blues JUEL, where she has played for the past three seasons. Throughout her high school career, Hylton has also played with her high school team at Bishop Strachan School. During last year's fall season, she helped lead her high school team to a CISSA championship. During her 2023 and 2024 summer season, Hylton competed with 'A' Game Basketball AAU.
During her 2025 season, Hylton was also named a JUEL All-Star and the recipient of the Coaches Award with her team at Bishop Strachan School. Off the court, Hylton is also a high achiever. Over the past three years, she has achieved an average of over 90%. In the fall, she will be studying science.
When asked about why she chose Dalhousie, Hylton accredited her decision to the strong sense of community among the students and student-athletes. She is excited to work under an experienced coach and continue to learn and grow from the rest of the team.
Hylton has expressed her excitement in joining the Black & Gold this fall.
"I am super excited to continue both my athletic and academic journey at Dalhousie. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play at the next level and experience living in Halifax," Hylton said. "I look forward to challenging myself every day. Over the next few years with the amazing Tiger community and learning environment, I know I will be able to develop as both an athlete and a person."
Coach Tanya McKay has also expressed her excitement in her team's newest recruit.
"We're thrilled to welcome Bianca Hylton to Dalhousie! A dynamic 5'10 guard from Toronto, Bianca brings athleticism, rebounding toughness, and explosive transition play to our program," McKay said. "Her work ethic in the classroom, in training, and on the court sets her apart. Bianca is a perfect fit for the Tigers, and we can't wait to see her impact."
The Tigers continue to build towards AUS success in the 2026-27 season.
