Bertolin Commits to Tigers for 2026-27.
Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball head coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce the commitment of guard Sophie Bertolin for the 2026-27 season.
A 5'7" guard from Dieppe, N.B., Bertolin has most recently competed with the Mathieu Martin Varsity Basketball Team, where she has been playing for the past four years. Last year, Bertolin also played with the 506 Academy Spring Team. She was also a member of the U17 Canada Games team with Basketball New Brunswick and previously played on Basketball New Brunswick's U15 and U16 teams.
In the fall, Bertolin will be studying kinesiology.
Bertolin has always looked up to the Tigers basketball program and would watch their AUS Championship weekends growing up. Becoming a Tiger has been a goal of hers.
"Dalhousie has been a school I've wanted to attend for a long time," Bertolin said. "Not just for basketball, but for the overall experience, and continuing my basketball career there feels like the perfect fit for me. I'm very excited for this opportunity to be a Tiger."
McKay is enthusiastic about the skill set Bertolin will bring to the Tigers.
"Sophie is a versatile, athletic guard who has great court awareness and defends with toughness," McKay said. "Her court awareness and competitive edge will translate well to the U SPORTS level."
The Tigers look forward to welcoming Bertolin to Halifax as they continue building toward future AUS success.
