Colley Commits to Tigers for 2026-27.
Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball head coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce the commitment of point guard Natalia Colley for the 2026-27 season.
The 5'9'' point guard from East Preston, NS has an extremely high basketball IQ, can score at all three levels, lock down opponents, and consistently impact the game on both ends of the court with her competitiveness and athleticism.
Colley most recently competed with the Armbrae Ospreys, one of the city's top basketball programs. Prior to that, she played on the RNS Riverhawks, Preston Elite, and East Preston Majors. She was also part of Nova Scotia's Canada Games Team in 2023 and 2025, where in 2025, she helped her team secure a bronze medal.
In the 2024-25 season with Amrbrae and in the 2023-24 season with RNS she was named team MVP. In 2024 and 2025, Colley won gold at the Crown Tournament. Colley also won silver at CIAS and at the Dairy Town Classic in 2025 where she was also named an all-star. In 2024, Colley was recognized as the Lorraine Simonds Intermediate Female Athlete of the Year.
Colley has expressed her excitement in joining the Black & Gold this fall.
"Playing for Dalhousie means competing at the highest level every day. I thrive on challenge, intensity, and hard work, and that's exactly what the Tigers represent," Colley said. "Under Coach Tanya McKay, the black and yellow stand for grit, toughness, and refusing to back down. I'm proud to wear it and ready to bring relentless energy every time I step on the floor."
Colley has deep roots within Dalhousie as both her parents are alumni. Her father played on the men's basketball team, and her mother is a nursing graduate. "Dalhousie is in my blood..." Colley wrote, "Now I get to carry that legacy forward on the court. Wearing the Tiger jersey means everything to me."
Coach Tanya McKay also shared her excitement on the new addition to the team.
"Dalhousie is thrilled to welcome local basketball standout Natalia Colley to our program. Natalia brings a high basketball IQ, natural athleticism, and a strong competitive presence to the court. She reads the game exceptionally well, can score at all three levels, and has the instincts to be a lockdown defender. As a key member of Armbrae Academy and a Canada Games bronze medalist with Team Nova Scotia, she has already proven her ability to perform on big stages. Natalia is a tremendous addition to our program and will make an immediate impact."
The women's basketball program continues to build towards AUS success for the 2026-27 season.
