Kalala committed for 2026–27 season

 A 5'9" guard from Moncton, New Brunswick, Kalala has competed at some of the highest levels of youth basketball in Atlantic Canada. She has been a standout with the Mathieu Martin varsity program from 2022–2026 and has represented New Brunswick on multiple provincial teams, including the 2025 U17 Canada Games Team and the 2024–25 Basketball NB U17 Girls team. She has also played with 506 Elite Academy, Atlantic Academy, and the Basketball NB U15 provincial team.

Kalala has been recognized nationally and provincially for her performance and potential. She was named to the 2025 Canada Basketball U18 Women's National Team Watch List. At the NBIAA level, she earned Player of the Year honours and All-Star recognition during the 2024–25 season, following her 2023–24 NBIAA All-Star award.

She has been accepted into Dalhousie's Bachelor of Arts program.

"Dalhousie University is one of Canada's best post-secondary institutions," says Kalala. "It is the best fit for me not only to play basketball at the next level but to continue my education. I'm very excited about having the opportunity to play at the next level and continue my education at Dalhousie University."

She's a competitor in every sense — hardworking, coachable, and determined — and I fully expect her to make an immediate impact from the moment she steps on campus."

The Tigers look forward to welcoming Kalala to Halifax as they continue building toward future AUS success.
