Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball head coach Tanya McKay is pleased to announce the commitment of Victoria Fournier for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the forward has played for the Halifax Grammar Gryphons for the past four seasons and two seasons for Basketball Nova Scotia. In her senior year, Fournier won a provincial bronze medal with Halifax Grammar and was named the Eastlink player of the game for her performance as the game's leading scorer with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Fournier’s list of accomplishments includes winning silver at Canada u15 basketball nationals, 2024-25 metro league all-star, being named to the watchlist for the all Canadian games as a top forward in the country and playing in the all Atlantic tournament this May. Her performance translates to her efforts in the classroom, having been a two-time recipient of the Head of School Legacy Scholarship.
“I am super excited to be committing to play in such a supportive and driven atmosphere.” says Fournier. “From my first conversations with Tanya, I knew Dal was where I wanted to be. The coaching staff and players have been so welcoming and create such a positive environment to play in. I can’t wait to see how the program continues to develop, and I am beyond grateful to be part of it! Go Tigers!”
Fournier will be studying science at Dalhousie.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Victoria to the Dalhousie Tigers women’s basketball program.” says McKay. “She’s a versatile athlete with a strong basketball IQ and the skill set to make an impact at the U SPORTS level. Victoria is also an excellent student, and we’re confident she’ll contribute to our culture both on and off the court. We’re excited to have her join the Tigers family.”
The Tigers finished the 2024-25 season with a 2-18 record, outside of a playoff position.
