Tigers add Ward for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers track and field head coach Rich Lehman is pleased to announce the commitment of Ryan Ward for the 2025-26 season
Hailing from Holland Landing, Ontario, the 5’8 distance runner has been part of the Newmarket Huskies track and field club for six years. During his time at the club, Ward has been part of two cross country team podium finishes. Ward also ran for his high school, where he qualified for Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations cross country all four years.
A four-year honour roll student, Ward was a recipient of the Dr. JM Denison 2025 athlete of the year award.
“I am excited to continue my running career at Dal.” Says Ward. “I am grateful to my family, friends and coaches who have helped me throughout the years and shaped me into the person that I aspire to be.”
Ward will be studying environmental and earth sciences program at Dalhousie.
“Ryan adds depth to both our cross country and distance track programs.” Says Lehman. “We're excited to watch him develop and believe he can become one of the top distance athletes in the AUS.”
The Tigers successfully defended their AUS track and field titles in Saint John, New Brunswick this past March.
