Tigers win second AUS Invitiational
Emma Carrier Clarke and Quinn Nolan were the top Tigers.
The Tigers won the Dalhousie Invitational on Sunday at Dalplex. On the men's side UNB finished second and the Mount Allison Mounties finished third. In the women's event, the Memorial Sea-Hawks finished second and the UNB REDS in third.
The second session opened with the 200m butterfly. Dalhousie's Mia Stein-Blumberg and Alexia Morgans went 1-2 in the race, both earning a spot at the U SPORTS championship later this season. Memorial's Ireland Walsh finished third. In the men's race, it was a Tigers sweep with Yannick Morgans winning, followed by Alexander Jonsen-Humble and Isaac Bahler in third.
Dalhousie's Hailey Wignall won the women's 50m backstroke with a time of 30.68 seconds. Fellow Tiger Nalina McDonald was second and Memorial's Melina Richard was third. Tigers Declan Nolan, Oliver Dawood and Eli Pickup went 1-2-3 in the men's event.
Emma Carrier Clarke won her third race of the weekend in the women's 400m freestyle with a U SPORTS qualifying time of 4:20.84. Memorial's Jordan LeRoy and Dalhousie's Alexia Morgans touched in second and third.
Yannick Morgans won the men's 400m freestyle race followed by fellow Tigers Morgan Sparkes and David Harvie.
Tiger Amari DeLima-Baril won the women's 100m IM followed by fellow Tigers Sara Bennett and Mia Stein-Blumberg. Quinn Nolan won the men's race followed by Cameron Carlyle and Nate Thompson, both of Dalhousie.
Emilie Schofield won the women's 100m backstroke followed by UNB's Maria McDougall in second and Dalhousie's Olivia Howe in third. Declan Nolan won the men's event with UNB's Nolan Oma in second and Dalhousie's Eli Pickup in third.
It was a Tigers sweep of the women's 200m breaststroke with Ava MacKenzie touching the wall in first followed by Lily MacLean in second and Isla Campbell in third.
UNB's Blake Kingston won the men's 200m breaststroke and Memorial's Liam Tweedie in second and fellow Sea-Hawk Thomas Best in third.
DeLima-Baril won her second race of the afternoon, touching the wall in a time of 28.55 seconds in the women's 50m butterfly. Bennett touched second followed by Memorial's Amelia Smith in third.
Tiger Quinn Nolan also won his second event of the day in the 50m butterfly. Teammates Thompson and Keilen Bellis finished in second and third respectively.
Emilie Schofield won her second event of the afternoon in the women's 200m IM. Mount Allison's Jes Lawrence touched in second place followed by Memorial's Jordan LeRoy. In the men's event it was Carlyle in first, Declan Nolan in second and Timothy McCowan in third.
The teams will return to the pool on Friday, November 28 at Dalplex for the Kemp-Fry Invitational.
