Wignall joins Tigers for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers head swim coach Lance Cansdale is pleased to announce the commitment of Hailey Wignall for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Owen Sound, Ontario, the 5’6 sprint back fly specialist swam with the Brock Niagara Aquatic Club this past year. Building off her experience swimming at multiple regional and provincial championships, Wignall competed at the 2025 Canadian trials this past year and is an Owen Sound Aquatic Club Merit award winner from 2021-2024.
“I am super excited to embark on this new journey for the next four years.” Says Wignall. “I am grateful to be joining this new community.”
An honour roll student, Wignall will study science at Dalhousie.
“Hailey brings us a national class backstroker that will greatly add to our depth and relay performances.” Says Cansdale. “Her ability to swim sprint free, fly and both IM’s also give us a very versatile and valuable swimmer for the future. I am excited to see what Hailey can do when she gets here in the September!”
The swim team claimed their 23rd AUS championship in a row for a total of 37 this past season.
