McDonald joins Tigers for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers head swim coach Lance Cansdale is pleased to announce the commitment of Nalina McDonald for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, the 5’5 back stroker swam with the Lakeshore Swim Club from 2017-2025. In 2023 McDonald won an Ontario Youth-Junior Championship in the 100m backstroke. She also won the top age group award for club swimming in 2022-23 and was awarded MVP for her school swim team this past year.
“I am really excited to be joining the Dal Tigers.” Says McDonald. “It’s an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait!”
An honour roll student, McDonald will be studying integrated science at Dalhousie.
“The fact that Nalina is continuing to improve in her best events, bodes well for the Tigers in the next four to five years.” Says Cansdale. “Her backstroke and sprint butterfly are already very competitive in the AUS and will help create a great training environment here at DAL.”
The swim team claimed their 23rd AUS championship in a row for a total of 37 this past season.
