Tigers add Cluett for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers head swim coach Lance Cansdale is pleased to announce the commitment of John Cluett for the 2025-26 season
The 6’5 sprint free and back stroker swam with the Halifax Trojans Aquatic Club from 2021-2025 as well as Swim Nova Scotia Next Gen from 2022-2025. In 2023-24, Cluett won top male swimmer for the Halifax Trojans, and the Swim Nova Scotia academic excellence award. Cluett is a multiple time provincial gold medalist and is a Swim Nova Scotia provincial record holder in the 4x50m medley relay.
“I am very excited to continue my academic and athletic career at Dalhousie.” Says Cluett. “The team’s culture and history of excellence is very evident, and I believe it is a place where I can develop as both an athlete and a person. I am grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to starting in the fall.”
The six-time principal list student will study medical science at Dalhousie.
“John is a diamond in the rough.” Says Cansdale. “He is still developing and can swim all the sprints events well. I’m excited to see what he can do as a Tiger!”
The swim team claimed their 25th AUS championship in a row for a total of 33 this past season.
