Bertelink joins Tigers for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers head swim coach Lance Cansdale is pleased to announce the commitment of Nicole Bertelink for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, the 5’10 freestyler swam with the North York Aquatic Club for ten years and is currently on the high-performance team. In 2022-23 Bertelink won most improved, achieved a World Aquatics high score in the 200 freestyle, and finished in the national top 50 for her age group in the 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle. She followed up her performance in 2023-24 with a top 25 national placement in her age group in the 200m freestyle.
“I’m so excited to be joining Dal and becoming part of the Tigers family.” Says Bertelink. “It’s an incredible opportunity to grow both as a student and athlete, and I can’t wait to contribute to such a strong and supportive team."
An honours student, Bertelink will be studying psychology at Dalhousie.
“Nicole is coming off a re-building year that has looked promising.” Says Cansdale. “What I am excited about is that as she gains more confidence and swimming strength, I believe that we will have a great freestyler that will be top contributor individually, as well as an integral part of our relays.”
The swim team claimed their 23rd AUS championship in a row for a total of 37 this past season.
