Tigers add Flaman for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s volleyball head coach Dan Ota is pleased to announce the commitment of Tayln Flaman for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Calgary, Alberta the 6’5 middle blocker started playing volleyball in grade 11 where he won the city championship with his club team the YYC Eagles. In his senior year, Flaman and his team finished second in the city championship and second in provincials. Named male athlete of the year in 2024-25, and athlete of the year in 2023-24 Flaman was also named to as the defensive play of the year on his basketball team.
Off the court, Flaman was named to the French immersion honour roll for his high school and a winner of the Wayne Thomas scholarship, which is awarded to someone with academic and athletic excellence.
“I chose Dal Tigers because of the social community and Dan Ota is one if not the best coaches you can find” Says Flaman. “I’m nervously excited to move into the next chapter of my life as a Tiger.”
Flaman will be studying political science for Dalhousie.
“Talyn has a very high ceiling and is just starting to tap into his potential as a middle blocker. I see him developing into a very good player at the U Sports level.”
The Tigers finished the 2024-25 RSEQ regular season in fifth place.
