Dalhousie Invitational Swim Meet Session 2

To start the second session of the 2014 Dalhousie Invitational the women started with 100 meter back stroke. The Tigers took the lead early with, Katarina Schatz, concurring first place with a time of 1:08.39. Memorial's Becca Dyer took second with Mt. Allison's Brenna Rothfuss taking a close third. The men kicked off the second session with 100 backstroke as well. Once again Acadia's Hayden Adams takes first place with a time of 58.08, followed by Memorial's David Haines and Dalhousie's Chris Reith.

For the 15^th and 16^th event the women and men swam 50 meter breast stroke. Dalhousie's Keishia Mills dominated her event once again, concurring first with a time of 33.93. UNB's Lauren Adam took second and UNB's Kaitlyn Young took third. The Tigers continued to dominate with Tony Liew grasping first with a time of 29.64. He was closesly followed by UNB's Chris Garcelon and by his teammate Jeremy Ryant.

Molly Wedge swam flawlessly to lead the 100 meter free swim. She took first with a time of 57.9. The MtA fans cheered as their swimmers, Allison Loewen and Marya Peters, swam neck to neck, placing second and third. Memorial took the lead for the men with, Gavin Dyke, swimming 51.55 to victory, with UNB's Eyad Albassiouny taking second and Tiger's David Sharpe taking third.

For the 19^th event the women swam an exciting 800 meter free, while the men swam the 20^th event, 1500 meter free. The Tigers took an early lead in the women's 800 and UNB took the early lead in the men's 1500.  The Tiger women kept their lead, gaining at first place by, Allison Grant with a time of 8:53.16 and with Megan Bernier taking a close second. The Varsity Reds also kept their lead with Brandon Warren with the victory taking a time of 16:45.39 and Taylor Dalke finishing strong in second.

Tigers take the victory in women's 50 meter butterfly with Molly Wedge concurring first taking a time of 29.91. She was closely followed by UNB's Kaitlyn Young and Jessica Leblanc. The men's 50 meter butterfly took the Tigers to 145 points. Dalhousie's Joe Ur took the victory with a time of 25.8, followed by David Shape in a close second, Acadia's Hayden Adams swam a great swim coming in third.

The Tigers continued to dominate the meet in the women's 200 meter individual medley. Tiger's swimmer, Rachel Shin, took the victory with a time of 2:21.20. Her teammate, Paige Crowell followed, with UNB's Lauren Adam in third. Memorial's Gavin Dyke concurred first in the men's 200 meter individual medley taking a time of 2:10.26.

To finish off the day and the second session of the meet the women and men swam the 400 meter medley relay. Dal finished first for the women taking a time of 4:26.42, followed by UNB. Dal also finished first for the men taking a time of 3:52.94, followed by Acadia. For the final scores of the day, Dalhousie women's take 234, followed by UNB with 114 and in the men's Dalhousie leads with 178 points followed by Acadia with 113 points.
