Horhul Commits to Tigers for 2026-27 season.
Dalhousie Tigers men's soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Andrey Horhul for the 2026-27 season.
Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Andrey Horhul is the newest addition to the men's soccer program, bringing great athleticism, strong technical ability, and a commanding presence.
Horhul most recently competed with BTB Soccer Club, where he has been playing since 2023. During his time with BTB, he helped his team secure three Provincial Championships, qualifying for Nationals each of those years. At Nationals, Horhul has earned two silver medals and one bronze medal. During his 2024 season, Horhul also won the BTB BMO Top 60 MVP and was nominated for BTB Team of the Season in both 2022 and 2023.
Off the field, Horhul has received honors status throughout all high school. He is also the recipient of the 2024 Rebel Award, recognizing his leadership.
Coach Alan Jazic has shared his excitement about his team's newest recruit.
"I'm really looking forward to welcoming Andrey to our program. Andrey comes from a great club in BTB out of Edmonton, where he's experienced in big game matches, both at the Provincial and National stage," Jazic said. "He's a complete keeper with a high ceiling. He's athletic, good with his feet, a great shot stopper, quick off his line, and he's a commanding presence. More importantly for me, Andrey wanted to come to Dalhousie and be a Dalhousie Tiger. I'm really excited to work with Andrey over the next 4-5 years."
Horhul has also shared his excitement about joining the Black & Gold this fall.
"It's exciting to be a part of such a great team and represent a school with so much history", Horhul said. "The team has a great emphasis on hard work and pride for the shirt which I am looking forward to adding to."
Horhul will begin his studies in engineering this fall.
The Tigers are continuing to build toward another successful AUS season.
