Lord Commits to Tigers for 2026-27.
Dalhousie Tigers men's soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of defender Jessy Lord for the 2026-27 season.
Hailing from Sackville, Nova Scotia, Lord most recently competed with Suburban FC AAA Academy. During the 2025 season, he helped lead his team to a Canada Soccer National Championship and a Nova Scotia Cup title, while also securing the Nova Scotia Soccer League U17 AAA regular season championship.
At the high school level, Lord captained Millwood High School, where he led the team in scoring and averaged a goal per game throughout the season.
In 2024, Lord played a key role in Suburban FC's Canada Youth Cup Championship and another Nova Scotia Soccer League U17 AAA regular season title. The year prior, he was part of Suburban's U15 Nova Scotia Cup winning team, as well as the Nova Scotia Soccer League U15 AAA regular season champions.
Individually, Lord earned Second Team All-Tournament honors at the 2025 Canada Soccer U17 National Championship. He was also named an All-Star at the 2025 Canada Youth Cup and received the Most Valuable Defender recognition at FTF's Halifax Summer Combine. Additionally, Lord has been recognized three times as an FTF Top 100 2008 graduate.
Off the field, Lord is also a high achiever. For the past three years, he has been a member of the Principal's List. In the fall, he will be studying engineering.
When asked about why he chose Dalhousie, Lord accredited his decision to the team's winning mentality, the coaching staff, and the opportunity to grow academically at one of Canada's top schools.
Lord expressed his excitement in joining the Black & Gold this fall.
"Committing to Dalhousie to play for the Tigers is one of the proudest moments of my life," Lord said. "I knew Dal was right for me from the start because of the team's winning mentality, atmosphere, and coaching staff. I'm beyond grateful for this opportunity, and I can't wait to get started and leave my mark as a Tiger."
Coach Alan Jazic has also expressed his excitement towards his team's newest recruit.
"I'm really excited to be welcoming Jessy to our Tiger Family. Jessy is a highly driven and motivated individual who competes and works at a very high level. His 1 v 1 defending is elite, and he's extremely explosive in transition, which is hard to find coming out of the back. More importantly, Jessy has a team's first attitude, and he wanted to be a part of this program and this University. I'm extremely happy and excited to be working with Jessy over the next 4-5 years and see how he develops, as a person, student and athlete!"
The AUS Champions continue to build towards another successful season.
