Dalhousie Tigers men’s soccer head coach Alan Jazic is pleased to announce the commitment of Kyle Lawford for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, the 6'1 striker currently plays for Vaughan Soccer Club, where he finished as the second-top goal scorer in the OPDL last season. Prior to that, he spent over three years at North Toronto Soccer Club, consistently ranking among the top goal scorers in OPDL. In the 2021 season, he and his North Toronto teammates went undefeated.
Since 2021, Lawford has received the Golden Boot athletic award every year at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute, in addition to being named MVP of the senior varsity team for the 2023-24 season.
“The Tigers had an outstanding season last year, and I’m excited to be part of that momentum,” says Lawford. “I’m eager to contribute my skills and energy to help us continue building on last year’s success, while also learning and growing alongside my teammates. This is an exciting chapter, and I can't wait to see what we can accomplish together.”
An honour roll student, Lawford will be studying commerce at Dalhousie University.
“I’m really excited to be welcoming Kyle to the Tiger family,” says Jazic. “Kyle is a true number nine who is physically gifted with a great finishing touch. His versatility will also be a big addition to our squad, and I like the fact that he can play anywhere along the front line. More importantly, Kyle really wanted to come to Dalhousie & be a Tiger. He’s a high achiever, both in the classroom and on the pitch & I’m excited to be working with him over the next four to five years.”
The men’s soccer team ended their 2024-25 AUS regular season in fourth place with a 6-4-2 record.
