Dalhousie University today announced that Chris Donnelly has stepped down from his role as Head Coach of the Dalhousie Tigers men's hockey team. The university will begin an immediate search for the program's next head coach.
Donnelly has been a central figure in Tigers hockey, bringing passion, professionalism, and deep commitment to the student‑athlete experience. Over his tenure, he has helped shape countless players both on and off the ice.
"We want to extend our sincere gratitude to Chris for his leadership and the many contributions he has made to the Tigers program," said Cindy Tye, Director of Athletics & Recreation at Dalhousie. "His dedication to developing young athletes and representing Dalhousie with integrity is valued and appreciated."
As the search for a new head coach begins, Dalhousie is looking ahead with excitement. The transition comes at a pivotal moment for the program, coinciding with the upcoming opening of the Oulton‑Stanish Centre, a state‑of‑the‑art facility that will serve as a new home for Tigers hockey. This modern, purpose‑built space will elevate the student‑athlete experience and strengthen Dalhousie's ability to compete at the highest level.
"This marks the beginning of an exciting new era for Dalhousie men's hockey," Tye added. "With the Oulton‑Stanish Centre nearing completion and a new coaching chapter about to begin, we are entering a period of tremendous opportunity."
Dalhousie University will share further updates as the search process progresses.
