Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Michael Dill for the 2019-20 season.
A three-year member of the Pictou County Weeks Crushers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL), Dill played over 140 games for the team. The Windsor, N.S. native was the 2015-16 MHL Rookie of the Year recording 51 points and was a first team all-star amassing the most assists (58) and most points (90) in the league at the end of the 2016-17 season. He followed up with a 62 point season the following year.
“I am excited to join the Dalhousie Tigers this year as I continue to play hockey and attend university closer to home,” says Dill. “I’m looking forward to meeting the team and getting to work with them.”
Dill will be working towards a Bachelor of Arts while attending Dalhousie.
“We are excited to be adding a player of Michael’s calibre to our roster,” says Donnelly. “His abilities are exactly what we are looking to add to our team, to improve our offensive output. Known for his work ethic and character, Michael put up some big numbers in his final couple of seasons in Junior playing for Pictou and that is what earned him an opportunity in NCAA. However, a desire to play back in Nova Scotia in the toughest conference in the country has lead Michael to Dalhousie.”
The Tigers open their season at home when they host StFX on September 25th
