Novicic commits to Tigers for 2026-2027 season!
Coach Plato has announced the commitment of 6'9 forward Andre Novicic of Vancouver, British Columbia, to the Dalhousie Tigers men's basketball team.
Andre joins the Tigers following two seasons with the University of Ottawa, where he was part of a highly successful program that captured the OUA Championship during the 2024-25 season and went on to earn a bronze medal at the U SPORTS National Championship. Prior to his university career, Andre starred at King George Secondary School, helping lead the program to two city championships, two zone championships, and a Provincial Championship in 2023.
Andre was drawn to Dalhousie by the program's history of success and the winning culture that has been established within the Tigers basketball program. He was particularly attracted to the standards of competitiveness, and commitment to excellence that Coach Plato and his staff emphasize throughout the program.
As he prepares to begin his career as a Tiger, Andre is looking forward to becoming part of the team's culture and contributing to its continued success. He is excited for the opportunity to develop further as both a player and teammate while competing alongside a group that shares his commitment to growth, hard work, and winning.
Coach Plato has shared his excitement on his team's newest recruit.
"We are very pleased to announce the commitment of Andre to the Tigers' family. After a 2-year stint at the University of Ottawa, Andre decided to make the move to Dalhousie for the 2026-27 season. Andre is a 6'9" stretch 4, who can run the floor, Can shoot the three and is a capable finisher inside. Andre is an excellent passer and can use his size effectively inside at both ends of the court. Only going into his 2nd year of eligibility, Andre will provide depth and productivity up front and with his solid work ethic, and his commitment to one day play professionally in Serbia (the home nation of his parents), Andre in the meantime is looking forward to a great career here in Halifax."
