Tigers add Oseghale for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Osazemhinde Oseghale for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the 6’7 power forward plays for Uprep Canada, Yxe elite and Bethlehem Catholic High School, where in his senior year Oseghale averaged 26 points per game, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks. Receiving awards of junior most improved player in 2021-22, Oseghale also received senior defensive player of the year in 2023-24 and senior most valuable player in 2024-25.
“I chose the Tigers because coach Rick was really welcoming along with the coaching staff and team.” Says Oseghale. “It’s a good opportunity for me to develop and grow as a person and player. I can’t wait to get to work!”
An honour roll student, Oseghale will be studying engineering at Dalhousie.
“Osaze is a very athletic rim protector, who will add tremendous athleticism and versatility to the Tigers’ front court. Osaze’s length, rebounding prowess and shot blocking ability will be a huge plus to the Tigers’ line up in 2025-26. I certainly believe that Osaze’s quickness and ability to the run the floor and finish in transition will add a dimension to the Tigers that has been missing since the graduation of Sasha Kappos.”
The Tigers finished their season with a 6-13 record, outside of a playoff position.
