Tigers add Ferguson for 2025-26
Dalhousie Tigers men’s basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of RaShawn Ferguson for the 2025-26 season.
Hailing from Nassau, Bahamas the 6’7 power forward joins the Tigers from Mount Allison University where he played the last three seasons. He won Mount Allison’s basketball’s rookie of the year in 2022-23 and in his most recent season scored 11.5 points and 10.7 rebounds.
“I'm truly honoured to join the Dalhousie University Tigers” says Ferguson. “I'm eager to contribute to our success and grow under Coach Rick Plato’s guidance. It feels great to be part of a program that values hard work and integrity. I can’t wait to get started and make my mark as a Tiger!”
RaShawn will be studying psychology at Dalhousie.
“Rashawn is an experienced university player having played 3 years at Mount Allison, will provide leadership and experience to a Tigers’ line-up.” says Plato. This past year he was one of the youngest teams in Canada, his solid work ethic and veteran’s confidence which will be a significant boost to the Tigers and Rashawn is someone who will be counted on to make an immediate impact in 2025-26.”
The Tigers finished their season with a 6-13 record, outside of a playoff position.
