Humphrey commits to Tigers for 2019-20 season

Dalhousie Tigers women’s hockey head coach Sean Fraser is pleased to announce the commitment of Amelia Humphrey for the 2019-20 season.

The Bedford, N.S. native has played the last four seasons for the King’s-Edgehill Prep team of the North American Prep Hockey Association. Humphrey earned athlete of the week honours in 2019 and won the Varsity Athletics Multiple Sport Award for King’s-Edgehill.

In the classroom Humphrey is a four-time honour roll student and has earned the Bronze and Silver levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

“I am excited for the season to start,” says Humphrey. “I can’t wait to be a Tiger!”

While attending Dalhousie, Humphrey will be working towards a Bachelor of Science.

“Amelia is a speedy forward that plays at top speed all the time,” says Fraser. “She is a great skater and has the ability to put pressure on the opponent’s defence.  She works extremely hard all the time and we are looking forward to having her work ethic in our lineup.”

The Tigers open their season at home when they host cross-town rivals Saint Mary’s on October 2.
