Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey head coach Chris Donnelly is pleased to announce the commitment of Scott Gaetz for the 2020-21 season.
A native of Mississauga, Ont., Gaetz comes to the Tigers after recording 16 points in a 51 game season with the South Shore Lumberjacks of the Maritime Hockey League (MHL). Before joining the Lumberjacks, the 5’10 defenceman suited up for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). He split the 2017-18 season between the OJHL’s Milton Ice Hawks and the MHL’s St. Stephen County Aces.
“It has always been a goal of mine to play at the university level,” says Gaetz. “I am very excited to be a part of the Dalhousie Tigers and to start the next chapter of my career.”
Gaetz will be studying commerce at Dalhousie.
“Scott has a positive attitude and is a fiercely competitive person,” says Donnelly. “He is a very good skater and his mobility allows him to play a sound defensive game. Scott moves the puck intelligently under pressure which is a characteristic of the defencemen in our program.”
The Tigers finished the 2019-20 season in seventh in the AUS conference, just shy of a playoff position.
