Dalhousie's 250+ student-athletes have an excellent reputation for their performances on the court, field, arena and pool and in the classroom. In the last decade, Dalhousie teams have brought home 63 conference championships and typically, approximately one third of Dalhousie's student-athletes reach U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status which requires a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Being a successful student comes first...

The university encourages student-athletes to strive for success and supports academic success through Dalhousie’s academic support programs.

Student-athletes follow the rules too...

Student-athletes represent the university, the athletic department, and their team in a positive way and adhere to the student code of conduct. A complete copy of the Dalhousie University Code of Student Conduct can be obtained from the Student Services Office.

AUS & U SPORTS - it's where you play...

As a member of a Dalhousie varsity team, student-athletes compete in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference and nationally via U SPORTS and as such must also abide by conference rules and guidelines.

Athletes get involved...

Dalhousie also has a varsity council as a way for student-athletes to get involved and represent their teams. The council is comprised of two representatives from each varsity team and meets monthly to discuss athletes’ issues, upcoming events, and plan fundraising activities. In the past the varsity council has assisted initiatives such as Special Tigers Day events, the Feed Nova Scotia Food Drive, Operation Christmas Child, and Sport Nova Scotia’s KidSport.

Newcomers welcome...

Full-time Dalhousie students are welcomed to attend open tryouts or prospective Dalhousie student-athletes are encouraged to fill out a prospective recruit form or contact the coach to find out what it takes to become a Tiger!
